ANTH 4301 - Archaeology of the Greater Big Bend Region

This course introduces students to the Indigenous history in the great Big Bend region from 13,000+ years ago to early historical contact with Spanish entradas during the 16th and 17th centuries CE. We will examine prominent archaeological sites associated with foragers, horticulturalists, and agriculturalists living in the Bid Bend area as well as adjacent areas in Texas, the American Southwest, Northwest Mexico, and the Great Plains. Cross-listed with ANTH 5310
