A survey of the study of of humankind’s past, present, and future. This course introduces students to the four major sub-fields of anthropology, covering everything from the evolutionary history of Homo sapiens and our distant relatives through hunting and gathering to industrial societies, their social and political organization, ritual and religion, and the use of language.
