The need to provide inexpensive reliable access to space has resulted in the emergence of both commercial spaceports and launch vehicles. This course will cover the emergence of the commercial launch industry from the first private launch in Texas in 1982 to the numerous commercial spaceports and launch systems in service today. It will provide a survey of the different types of commercial spaceports and the launch systems currently in operation or under development.
