SRSU 1101 - First Year Seminar Credit Hours: 1 Contact Hours Lecture: 0 Contact Hours Lab: 2
This course focuses on (1) the psychology of learning, cognition, and motivation, (2) factors that impact learning, and (3) application of learning strategies. Students use assessment instruments (e.g. learning inventories) to help them identify their own strengths and weaknesses as strategic learners. Additional topics include goal- setting, motivation, educational and career planning, time-management, note-taking, preparing for exams, and utilizing learning resources. Students developing these skills should be able to continually draw from this course.
