This course provides an overview of theory, research and biographies on motivation and emotion focusing on the function and philosophy of emotion, and how emotional states contribute to the expression of motivated goal-directed behaviors, and vice versa. These processes are examined from a variety of psychological perspectives (e.g., biological, cognitive, developmental, social, phenomenological, aesthetic, spiritual) providing tools for understanding and regulating motivation and emotion, both intra- and interpersonally.
Prerequisites: PSY 1302 or the equivalent, or consent of instructor Equivalencies: PSCH 4316
