EDUA 6333 - Ethical, Legal, and Professional Issues in Counseling

This course will examine legal, ethical, and professional standards and issues affecting the practice of professional counseling in schools, community agencies, and private practices in the multicultural and diverse society of the 21st century. Ethical standards will be discussed from an historical and practice perspective, as well as legal issues that affect and/ or conflict with the professional practice of counseling. Ethical decision-making models will be examined, and professional issues distinctive to the specific practice settings of counseling will be presented.
