The mission of the Master of Science in Sports Administration degree program is to effectively prepare students for a variety of leadership positions within athletic and sport organizations at the community, educational, and/or professional levels. Students will be provided quality instruction through the latest distance education technology, opportunities for research and professional development, and field-based experiences. Throughout the program, students will develop understanding of historical and contemporary issues in the field, understand the research process, and represent the program’s goals and objectives in the industry. Individuals completing the program will be ready to assume leadership positions in the sport administration, academic domains, as well as higher education teaching opportunities.
This graduate program is fully online and is offered through the Department of Kinesiology and Human Performance leading to the Master of Science in Sports Administration (SAP) degree. The SAP program is a thirty (30) hour fast track graduate program to accommodate interested individuals with the desire to work in a health or sports setting. Courses are eight weeks with two courses recommended per eight-week session and four courses per semester. These courses must be selected with the advice and approval of the Program Coordinator. The program is concluded with a six-hour Practicum. No more than twelve (12) hours of graduate transfer work may be counted on the degree.
