This course provides an introduction to criminal justice research methods. Students will learn how to evaluate current research and conduct contemporary research in the field of criminal justice. The course introduces students to terminology and tools of the scientific method. Several data collection techniques available to criminal justice researchers are explored and evaluated. Students will learn how to evaluate academic research products in terms of their contribution to the fields of criminal justice, as well as how to develop their own research problems. (Required for CJ and HS)
