The Associate of Science (AS) in Kinesiology at Sul Ross State University provides students with a foundational understanding of human movement, health, and performance while preparing them for seamless transfer into the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Kinesiology or related health sciences fields. This 60-hour degree plan emphasizes scientific principles of exercise, anatomy, physiology, and sport management within a liberal arts framework.

Students completing the AS degree will have earned a minimum of 18 credit hours in Kinesiology courses, providing hands-on and theoretical preparation in areas such as physical fitness, wellness, sport and recreation management, and human performance. The program integrates general education requirements with specialized coursework to develop critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills essential for careers in health, fitness, education, or athletic professions.

Graduates of the AS in Kinesiology are well-positioned to continue their studies toward a baccalaureate degree or to pursue entry-level roles in the health, recreation, and sports industries.
