The undergraduate program in the Department of Business Administration within the Rio Grande College of Business leading to the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree is a program designed with the express purpose of preparing individuals to understand, interpret, and successfully respond to dynamic environments of regional, national, and global enterprises, both in the private and public sectors. Students may choose between the General BBA and seven emphasis areas: Global Management, Marketing, Real Estate Management, Organizational Leadership, Healthcare Management, Space Entrepreneurship, and Accounting..

Program Requirements
Core Curriculum: 42 University Requirement: 1 BBA Core Requirements: 45 Restrictive Electives: 18* General Electives: Up to 21** *For Global Management and Marketing, the restrictive electives are the courses prescribed for the emphasis area. **If MATH 1314 is taken in the Texas Core Curriculum, an additional elective is required to meet the 120 SCH minimum. Required Core Courses: 45 Credits
This is the common core for the Bachelor of Business Administration and required for all students. Restrictive Electives: 18 to 24 Credits

The BBA in Global Management emphasis area exposes students to the latest trends in business knowledge and organizational practices (both theoretical and practical) in an environment where they are encouraged to respond appropriately to the dynamic and competitive world of global business and to embrace the tools and techniques of global management. Students will become proficient in the tools and techniques of business to recognize, respond, and adjust quickly and appropriately to market dynamics and environmental changes affecting organizations at regional, national, and international levels. If the student chooses the Global Management emphasis area, the restrictive electives above are replaced by the following courses: Emphasis Area Requirements: 18 Credit Hours

The BBA in Marketing program exposes students to a learning environment where they are encouraged to respond appropriately to the fast-paced and competitive world of marketing and to embrace the current tools and techniques of the field. Students will become proficient in recognizing, responding, and adjusting quickly and appropriately to dynamic market forces and environmental changes affecting organizations at regional, national, and international levels. The BBA in Real Estate Management offers students a thorough and integrated education in real estate principles, finance, development, marketing, law, and professional practice. By combining rigorous academic coursework with practical, hands-on experiences, the program equips graduates with the knowledge, skills, and professional competence needed to pursue successful careers in real estate, investment, finance, and property management. The BBA in Organizational Leadership program exposes students to a learning environment where they are encouraged to develop their skills as leaders. Students will learn how to build their skills as leaders, recognize the elements of good leadership and be able to apply it to the development of a leadership plan for an organization. The BBA in Organizational Leadership will consist of 18 semester credit hours beyond the BBA Core. Healthcare Management
The BBA in Healthcare Management program provides students with the skills and knowledge to manage in the healthcare field. Students learn the complexities of managing both healthcare facilities and personal. They also learn about the public policy aspects of the healthcare industry. If the student chooses the Healthcare Management emphasis area, the restrictive electives above are replaced by the following courses: Emphasis Area Requirements: 18 Credit Hours
The BBA in Healthcare Management will consist of 18 semester credit hours beyond the BBA Core. Space Entrepreneurship
The BBA in Space Entrepreneurship fills a bachelor’s degree that will prepare business students for the emerging space commerce industry. The program will provide foundation in the field of space commerce and its component areas including commercial satellites, spaceports, launch system, commercial human spaceflight, and space industrialization. On completion students will be able to move into management and policy positions in the space industry. If the student chooses the Marketing emphasis area, the restrictive electives above are replaced by the following courses: Emphasis Area Requirements: 18 Credit Hours
The BBA in Space Entrepreneurship consists of 18 semester credit hours beyond the BBA Core. Accounting
The BBA - Accounting offers a solid foundation in business and specialized accounting skills, preparing students for careers in public accounting, corporate finance, banking, government, and non-profit organizations. Aligned with the university’s mission, the curriculum provides practical knowledge to tackle challenges in various business environments. Emphasis Area Requirements: 24 Credit Hours
The BBA - Accounting will consist of 24 semester credit hours beyond the BBA Core. General Electives: Up to 21 Credit Hours
