Sul Ross offers a progression of awards that lead to achieving the M.Ed. in Education with Specialization. The progression is as follows:
- Certificate in Content Specialization-The certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete eighteen graduate hours in a core subject (e.g. Math, Spanish, History).
- Certificate in Dual Credit Advanced Pedagogy-The certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete eighteen hours in a core subject plus three hours in a dual-credit pedagogy and theory course (via education).
