The MEd General is designed to allow students to choose a specialization that is built upon a foundation of four core courses in education. Students work with the program coordinator to select their area of interest among all academic disciplines that offer graduate courses. Specializations will vary for each student. All coursework requires approval of the major advisor and must be completed within a six-year period. This degree is popular for dual-credit teachers and others seeking in-depth study in a subject area.
MEd Education General with Specialization Student Learning Outcomes (SLO)
- MED General students will demonstrate writing skills and the ability to use research methodology.
- MED General students will identify multicultural perspectives in society.
- MED General students will apply their understanding of content in their chosen area of specialization.

Program Requirements
Required courses: 12 Area of Specialization: 18 Required Core Courses: 12 Credits
Area of Specialization: 18 Credit Hours
Students will select 18 credits in their area of specialization to complete the 30 credits degree program. Notes:
Students must have a 3.0 GPA to graduate with no grade lower than a C. Comprehensive Exam required for graduation. Most courses are online, depending upon the discipline selected. Total Hours: 30
