The history of Europe from the late 17th century to the mid-19th century. The course will cover the constitutional conflict in England, the emergence of Russia as a European power, the intellectual ferment of the Enlightenment, the French Revolution and the eclipse of the Ancient Regime, and the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.
