This course examines the role of sourcing and procurement functions within a company and the evaluation, selection, and development of suppliers. The course is also designed to emphasize the importance of negotiation and managing contracts. Topics include: category management, supplier solicitation, bidding processes, competitive negotiations, price and cost analysis, total cost of ownership, types of purchasing contracts, and international purchasing issues.
